Every day, bit by bit my homegrown Blueberry tub in the fridge is slowly filling up.

You've got to love free homegrown goodness haven't you.
Oh, and while the tubs are filling up we are still eating our way through tubs of Blueberries we bought and froze last year, while they were on special offer.
If you see them in 'yellow stickered' packs at the end of the day in the supermarkets or being sold off cheap just before a market closes, buy as many as you can and when you get home simply tip them into a freezer proof container, put straight into the freezer and stash them away.
The ones we bought last year still taste amazing and thaw in minutes to eat with lovely fresh strawberries for breakfast.

  1. We can buy 5-lb. boxes of wild blueberries here - I love them and they are fantastic to freeze. Would be even better to have my own!

  2. Every year, around this time, one of our large supermarkets has a deal-if you spend $150.00 you get 2lbs. blueberries free. They bring in way more blueberries then they need. Next week, all the ones they didn't give away with the deal are on sale at 50% off. That's when I buy them, and as you say, they go straight in the freezer!
